Lori is a founding partner of the Pinkowski-Allen Financial Group and is a Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Vice President in Raymond James Ltd.’s Private Client Group. She specializes in conservative wealth management and financial planning. Her commitment to her clients’ well-being through sound investment advice and regular communication has helped her build strong, long-term relationships with each of the families she works with. Lori carefully creates and manages personally tailored investment portfolios on a discretionary basis to meet her clients’ investment and life goals.
She has over 16 years’ experience as a financial advisor/portfolio manager and studied financial management at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, continuing her studies in financial planning and wealth management, to earn her Certified Investment Manager (CIM®) and Portfolio Manager designations.
As a well-known financial expert, Lori has one of the top weekly radio shows on CKNW 980AM radio, "Making Cents of the Markets", where she discusses market conditions and financial industry news. She has been a financial columnist for the North Shore News since 2001 and has appeared regularly on Global News.
Lori has been recognized with many awards for building one of the most successful investment practices in Canada and also for her dedication to the Vancouver community through various charity and educational endeavours. These include:

Lori enjoys giving back to the community by speaking at various high schools and post-secondary institutions such as BCIT, SFU and UBC to teach young adults about the fundamentals of finance that isn’t taught in a classroom and inspire those with her story of success as a financial advisor. She also volunteers her time with the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs where she mentors, empowers and educates women of all ages to arm them with the knowledge to become successful entrepreneurs. Lori is a world traveler and has visited 45 countries and also loves to spend time with her two French bulldogs, Pinky and Frankie. Her hobbies include track driving and she recently obtained her professional racing license. Lori believes her time on the track improves her decision making ability because if you are driving close to 300 km/hr you must be prepared to react to what’s around every corner!
Seth Allen, MBA

Seth is a founding partner of the Pinkowski-Allen Financial Group and is a Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Vice President in Raymond James Ltd.'s Private Client Group. He holds an MBA in global asset wealth management from Simon Fraser University. The master’s program is highly specialized in portfolio management and gives Seth expert knowledge on advanced investment strategies. His thesis on an option writing strategy handily beat the Dow Jones Industrial Average from December 31, 1999 to December 31, 2010 on an absolute and risk adjusted basis.
Seth and his partner Lori manage the investment decisions and trading operations including overseeing the team’s internal research and analysis. Seth sits on the Raymond James Private Investment Management Group Steering Committee and is a voting member on the Raymond James Investment Advisory Strategy Group (IASG). IASG is primarily responsible for setting the long term strategic view on markets and asset allocation for Raymond James Ltd. He frequently provides advisory services to a number of publicly traded companies by applying his expertise and experience, including 16 years working with global companies to identify opportunities with significant growth potential starting from inception to buy out.
Seth is a member of the Local Advisory Committee (LAC) that provides advice and recommendations to the Venture Exchange (TMX Group) on all policy, operational and strategic issues that have substantial impact on public venture capital markets, including the role of the exchange. Membership of the LAC is comprised of individuals who have relevant experience and expertise in the public venture capital market.
In addition, Seth has been a member of the Performance Review Committee for the BEAM endowment fund at Simon Fraser University since 2011 and is a former external director for the Centre for Studies in Global Asset and Wealth Management. He achieved Raymond James Global Top 50 from more than 6,800 financial advisors worldwide.
Since graduating from the MBA program, Seth continues to mentor students at the Beedie School of Business at SFU. His past and present charitable endeavours include the Odd Squad, the STAND Foundation, the Children’s Hospital, SPCA, Special Olympics BC, Union Gospel Mission, ALS Cycle of Hope, SportsCardiologyBC, Dixon Transition Society and Prostate Cancer Foundation BC. As director of the Prostate Cancer Foundation BC, he organizes, fundraises and participates in the Raymond James Father’s Day Walk Run, held every year in cities across BC. The run honours prostate cancer survivors, brings awareness to the number one cancer for men and assists in raising money to help find a cure.
In his spare time, Seth enjoys many hobbies including fly fishing, yoga, and adventure travel. Seth and his fiancé, Ana, share two Maltese dogs, Lola and Francesca.
John McLean, CIM, FCSI
Head of Business Development
John is passionate about helping people and as one of the team’s financial advisors, he works with clients to develop and review their tailored financial plans and investment strategies, ensuring they are on track to achieve their financial goals. As part of the management team along with Lori and Seth, he also helps manage the operations of the office.
Starting in the investment industry as a trader in 1998 exposed John to the highs and lows of the tech bubble early in his career. This background gives him a strong technical foundation and his 18 years of broad experience in banking and investments allows him to provide our clients with exceptional service and expert advice. He attended BCIT and Simon Fraser University where he studied financial planning and business administration. Recognizing the importance of continuing education, John regularly expands on his studies in portfolio management and financial planning, having already earned his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation and currently on track to finalize his certified financial planner (CFP®) designation this year. He has also spent multiple terms acting as treasurer and board member for a non-profit organization, overseeing the budgeting and governance of a corporation with multi-million dollar annual revenues and government grants.
Outside the office, John and his wife are proud parents to their two teenage daughters and love to travel. While they can’t bring their white German shepherd “Cooper” and yorkie “Joey” with them on many of those trips, the dogs often follow them everywhere else. On weekends, John tries to golf or fish as much as he can.
Russell Feenstra, BBA, CFP, CIM
Financial Planner & Associate Financial Advisor
Russell is an associate financial advisor and Certified Financial Planner CFP® for Pinkowski-Allen Financial Group. His primary responsibilities for the Pinkowski-Allen team are to develop and present financial plans along with client portfolio reviews and clients updates; he also helps clients with tax-related questions.
He earned his business degree from Capilano University and began his career as an account manager at BlueShore Financial. He went on to work for RBC Dominion Securities as a financial associate prior to joining Pinkowski-Allen. In addition to his eleven years of industry experience, Russell has completed a series of industry courses to be licensed as a registered representative. He supports North Shore Special Olympics where he volunteers as a coach.
Russell and his wife love to travel and he is also an avid hockey and softball player.
Senior Administrative Assistant
Aiysha is the expert administrator on our Pinkowski-Allen team and as a licensed Investment Representative also handles trade execution. In addition to trading, Aiysha prepares documentation, facilitates private placements and assists clients with their general day to day requests. Her level of professionalism, knowledge of the industry and broad experience make her a valued resource for our clients.
She began her investment career eight years ago and through a variety of operational roles, Aiysha has gained valuable experience in many aspects of the financial services industry, including administration, registration and compliance. She has also completed her Canadian Securities Course, Conduct and Practices Handbook and Traders Training course.
During her spare time she loves travelling, dancing and spending time with friends.
Marketing & Administrative Assistant
Andrea provides excellent service to many of our clients, in addition to being the executive assistant to Lori Pinkowski, one of the lead portfolio managers on the team. She helps organize client events and plays a big role in supporting charity events such as the Raymond James Father’s Day Walk/Run for Prostate Cancer Foundation BC. In addition, she is responsible for maintaining our media relationships and acts as a liaison in connection to our multiple appearances through radio, TV and print.
Andrea attended Capilano University where she graduated with a bachelor of business administration. During her tenure at school she studied international business and had the opportunity to study abroad in Hertfordshire, England. Before entering the financial industry, Andrea worked in tourism for over three years at the Britannia Mine Museum where she gained valuable communication and customer service experience. She has now been with the Pinkowski-Allen team for over two years.
Andrea loves to travel and enjoys spending time at the beach as well as hiking around Vancouver.
Client Service Specialist
Ryan specializes in preparing documentation for new accounts and account maintenance. In addition, he works with the other team members to assist with client servicing.
Ryan completed his degree in economics at Simon Fraser University in 2013 and is a licensed investment representative. During his studies he worked at Scotiabank and at the Industry Training Authority of BC. He joined Raymond James in 2015 where he worked as an associate on the account profile team, where he was primarily responsible in processing documents. He joined the Pinkowski-Allen team in 2016 and brought over his knowledge and experience from working in the operations department.
In his free time, Ryan and enjoys travelling, cooking, and playing sports such as volleyball, basketball and golf.
Adrian Kartono, B. Comm
Adrian’s primary responsibilities on the client services side include preparing investment proposals, performance reports, and portfolio reviews. He also specializes in conducting extensive due diligence and continuous performance reviews of external portfolio managers.
Adrian is licensed as a registered representative on the Pinkowski-Allen team and brings over 11 years experience in the wealth management industry. He has completed the bachelor of commerce degree at McGill University. Following a two year stint working overseas in London, Adrian returned home to Vancouver to begin his career in the industry with Canada’s oldest fee-only financial planning firm. He went on to work at CIBC Wood Gundy as an investment research analyst covering managed investment products, such as mutual funds and hedge funds, before joining the Pinkowski-Allen team.
Outside of the office, Adrian loves travelling with his wife, trying new restaurants, and participating in various sports, such as biking, swimming, martial arts, and racquet sports.
Jason Mai, BSc
Jason’s primary focus on the Pinkowski-Allen team is trade reconciliation for our Legacy Portfolios as well as client servicing. This includes trading, portfolio administration and preparing performance reports. He brings over 10 years of experience with JPMorgan Asset Management in New York.
He earned his bachelor of science degree from Stony Brook University of New York before embarking on a career in the finance industry. At JPMorgan, Jason led a small team of traders focused on trading the firm’s private bank and private client managed accounts. With the realization that space and quality of life in New York was an issue, Jason and his family packed their belongings and moved to his wife’s hometown in Vancouver.
Outside of the office, Jason, his wife and two young daughters enjoy biking, swimming and spending lots of time on the jungle gyms!
Justin Isaacs, BBA
Justin is our team’s portfolio analyst and is responsible for identifying and researching investment opportunities as well as working closely with Seth and Lori to identify equities for the Legacy Portfolios. He is involved in all aspects of the portfolio management process from overall portfolio strategy and sector allocation to bottom-up security selection.
He studied at the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University where he majored in finance and took an active role in the university community. Justin wrote for the university newspaper, The Peak, and played for the men’s ice hockey team.
When out of the office, he still enjoys playing hockey as well as travelling and reading history books – with a particular interest in 20th century history. Justin has completed the level II exam of the chartered financial analyst program.
Associate Portfolio Manager
Marko is a financial advisor and portfolio manager with Raymond James’ Pinkowski-Allen Financial Group. Our focus is on active management so he spends a lot of time researching new investment ideas and keeping up with developments with our existing holdings. Portfolio construction and asset class mixes are a big part of the picture. Marko has a natural contrarian instinct, preferring to find investment ideas that are “on sale” while not shying away from pruning positions after strong moves higher.
Marko holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in music composition but later embarked on the chartered financial analyst designation, having written all three levels. He has been a licensed advisor for 18 years, eight of them with Raymond James. Marko is also our resident options expert and is U.S. licensed as well. He is also the author of the Weekly Market Comment and contributes to our other publications. He speaks Croatian/Serbian and is currently studying Spanish.
When not at work, Marko can typically be found mountain biking on the North Shore and Whistler. He loves playing and collecting guitars and is an avid music aficionado. Yet to buy a T.V., he prefers books or walking down the street to the cinema. He lives with his girlfriend Karen and their dog, Daria, a poodle/Maltese.
Ron Hickey, BBA
Trading and Research Specialist
As the trading and research specialist for Pinkowski-Allen Financial Group, Ron is responsible for monitoring global financial markets, following the holdings within our Legacy Portfolios, and keeping the team up to date on current market trends. He also calculates our mandate performance, prepares our monthly fact sheets for client reviews, and allocates shares to our client accounts.
Ron has been with the team for over three years. He completed his bachelor of business administration with honours at Vancouver Island University in 2012 followed by working as a personal banker at HSBC. He joined Raymond James in 2013 and has since completed all three levels of the chartered financial analysis program. Ron is also licensed as a registered representative and has obtained the FPSC Level 1® certification in financial planning.
Ron is an avid traveler and enjoys trying new cuisine. He also spends his free time in Tofino surfing and golfing.
